Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own logo?
Yes. Choose Image and pick a PNG or JPG — a PNG with a transparent background looks best. You can also drop the image straight onto the page once your PDF is open.
Can it be removed by the person I send it to?
Not easily. The watermark is drawn into the page content itself, not attached as an annotation, so it prints and cannot simply be clicked and deleted in a reader. Anyone determined enough can still edit a PDF, so treat a watermark as a clear marking rather than as security — combine it with Protect PDF if the file is sensitive.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes — tap the pages you want in the grid. Leave nothing selected and every page is stamped.
Which languages can the text be in?
Any language written in Latin, Cyrillic or Greek, thanks to an embedded Unicode font. Bengali, Arabic and Chinese need text shaping and are reported rather than written incorrectly — for those, make an image of the text and use the image option.
Good to know: Text watermarks cover Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts; use an image for shaping scripts like Arabic or Chinese. On a very dark page a grey watermark can be hard to see — raise the opacity or switch colour.
