Frequently asked questions
PNG or JPG — which should I pick?
PNG for anything with text, diagrams, screenshots or flat colour: it is lossless, so letters keep clean edges. JPG for photo-heavy pages where a much smaller file matters more than perfect edges.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Every page is rendered by your own browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
Does PNG keep transparency?
Yes. Where a PDF page has no background, the PNG stays transparent — which is what makes this the right choice for logos and artwork you will place on another background.
Why are PNG files so much larger than JPG?
PNG never throws information away. On a text page that costs little; on a photograph it can be several times the size of the equivalent JPG.
Can I convert a 300-page document?
Yes, though it takes a while and a lot of memory at high resolution, since every page is drawn on your own device. For very long documents, convert in batches.
Good to know: PNG files are large by nature — a 300 DPI A4 page is often 3–8 MB. The text in an image cannot be selected or searched; use PDF to Text if you need the words.
